Care, Maintenance & Warranty

Tiles are designed to last when cared for properly. This page provides guidance on cleaning and ongoing maintenance to support the long-term condition of Tiles of Ezra tiles.

How do I clean and care for your tiles?

Routine care is simple. For everyday maintenance, use a soft cloth or mop with a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid abrasive products, harsh chemicals, or acidic solutions (such as vinegar or bleach), as these can dull, etch, or damage natural stone and handmade surfaces.

Regular sweeping or vacuuming helps minimise grit that can scratch tiles over time.

Read through our Installation Guides for further advice.

Are special cleaning products required or recommended?

In most cases, no specialised products are required, but the cleaner must be pH-neutral and safe for your tile type (stone, Zellige, cement, terrazzo, etc.).
Avoid:

  • Acidic cleaners
  • Abrasive powders
  • Harsh solvents
  • Oil-based soaps that may leave residue

For natural stone or cement surfaces, your installer or stone supplier may recommend a compatible brand of neutral cleaner or penetrating sealer to maintain the finish.

Consult our Spec Sheets & Installation Guides here.

How do I prevent staining or discolouration of grout or tiles?

  • Seal porous tiles and grout lines (e.g., stone, cement, encaustic) to help prevent liquid absorption.
  • Wipe spills promptly—especially oils, acids, and coloured liquids.
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners only, as harsh chemicals can cause discolouration over time.
  • Maintain sealant as recommended by the manufacturer; resealing periodically helps preserve colour and integrity.
  • In wet areas, ensure good ventilation to prevent mould or mildew development.

What should I do about chips, cracks, or damage over time?

Small chips or surface imperfections can often be grout patched or filled by a professional installer.

For more significant cracks or breakages, the best approach is to replace the individual tile, which is why we recommend keeping a small amount of extra stock from your installation. Because our tiles are handmade, any natural imperfections are part of the product’s authentic character, but damage from impact or improper installation should be addressed promptly to prevent further issues.

Do you offer a warranty on your products? What does it cover and for how long?

Tiles of Ezra provides product warranties in accordance with local consumer laws. Coverage typically applies to manufacturing defects only, not issues resulting from:

  • Improper installation
  • Incorrect substrate preparation
  • Use of unsuitable adhesives or sealers
  • Natural variation inherent to handmade tiles
  • Wear, tear, or damage from impact or chemicals

Specific warranty terms may vary by region or product type. Please contact our team for project-specific guidance or documentation.

Can I re-seal or re-polish tiles over time (if applicable)?

Yes, porous tiles such as unglazed Zellige, natural stone, cement, terrazzo, etc., benefit from periodic resealing to maintain their appearance and resistance to staining.

Penetrating sealers may need reapplication every 1–3 years, depending on use and exposure.

Some stone surfaces can be professionally re-polished or honed to refresh the finish if they become dull or etched.

Glazed tiles do not require resealing or polishing.
